Ng Ling, a coolie employed by Watson's nerated water factory, was the first witness for the prosecution. He stated that he knew the deceased. In June last, the witness went on to say, two employees, surnamed To, were ordered by the deceased to carry some broken battles to the first floor, and there to dump it into a sink. The coolies refused to carry out the order, whereupon the deceased, after having some words with them, pushed one of the men. Then the pair set on the deceated and thrashed him.
