The other foreign nations were represented in the S.V.C. and it was po. cessary for Japan to be so, too. It would be superfluous for him to say anything concern ing the spirit and pluck of Japanese aller the way they acted in the late war, but if ever the S. V. C. was called upoa he was quite sure the Japanese company'would worthily uphold the the name of Japan. He had great pleasure in receiving the company into the S. V. C. (Applause.)
