A case of piracy attended by murder was reported yesterday to the Nambos Magistrate, On the 8th instant, a cargo boat fully laden with goods belonging to a firm in Fatshan, was attacked by a gang of sex robbers when passing in the vicinity of Tung Po in the din trict of Panyu. The pirates held up the owner el the boat, and murdered him, throwing the Corpo overboard into the river. The booty carried away is estimated at about three thou sand dollars.

Chiu Kai-lam, the censor, who was recently dismissed by the Throne for having reported misleadingly on the case in connection with the charge of receiving bribe by Prince Ching, was reinstated the other day through the re- commendation of 11.E. Viceroy Shum. H.E. Shum, has requested Chiu to accompany him in Canton to assist him in carrying out the ad- ministration of the Linng Kwang Provincer, and it is reported that Chiu has consented to come South with him. +

The Taolai of the Prefectures of Weichow, -Charchow and Ka Ying Chow, Sham Chuan-i, has submitted a telegraphic report to the Acting Viceroy to the effect that he had be headed over forty of the rinters captured in Wong Kong and there are at present still about sevenly in prison. Over thirty corpses of the insurgents were found on the Tai O hilts and the vicinity. The rebel-chief, Ye Chao, has been captured and several hundred of bis comrades were killed during the engage ments. The place is now under a strong guard and there is no fear of any fresh out break of disturbances.
