The Chairman said:-Gentlemen, We have now to come before you with the report re and accounts for the year 1955, copies of which were issued to you on Sth instant, and which, with your permission, will now be taken as read. This is little in the report that calls for comment. The profit is slightly greater than the previous year's, as the price of raw material was mote lo our favour, and we are, therefore, able to recommend our old dividend of twenty per cent. On the other hand, the high value at which the silver dollar was maintained through out the year was against us, and considerably reduced our returns from those countries where we have to all in gold, besides handicapping ui is competition with rope made at home, and restricting our sales all round.
