From this cir .cumstance it will be seen that the com. pany usually derives the greater part of the profit from the iron works departments. A remarkable feature of the company's business is that the holdings of foreigners are gradually increasing, as will be gathered from the follow ing figures:--

The inclusion of such a large number of foreigners amongst ite shtreholders proof of the confidence placed amongst for aigners in the company, The Yokohama Dock Company has now under project the construc tion of No. 3 dock, and if this proposal is carried out and completed it should materially enlarge the scope of its business.—Japan Chronicle.
