It is but fair to the police to note the recent cessation of the knock-down robberies which for a time so alarmed the colony. We have į airandy expressed our opinion of Mr. Douglas' energy and are riad so believe that it has been supplemented by a little extra vigilance on the part of the force, at night. We are still of epizion however that a very important ehauge must take place in many conditions affecting its action before we can hope to feel perfectly secure.
