Hamburg-America Line.
THE NILE NAVIGATION.
London, 6th January.
The Hamburg American Line has conclud- ed an agreement with the Anglo-American Company which runs a line of steamers on the Nile.
Under the agreement, the capital of the latter Company will be increased.
The Company will henceforth be known as the Hamburg and Anglo-American Nile Com
pany.

[N. C. D. News) China Looking to Hor Sovereignty.
3. Peking, 11th January, The Military Governor of Heilungchinng has telegraphed to the Peking authorsties that Russia has worked five gold and several other mines in that province, taking advantage of the late war, and that these mines should be returned to China in the Chino-Russian negotiations.
Parurokusan (?) in Ili province was leased io the Russians for ten years, which tergi, has now expired. The Russians still maintain their troops there, however, and the Chinese Government has accordingly demanded that they shall evacuate,

The hearing of this case was resumed in Admiralty Jurisdiction this morning, His Honour, Sir Francis Piggott, Chief Justice, presiding.
The first Criminal Sessions of the year wore held this morning, at the Supreme Court, His Honour, Mr. A. G. Wise, Puiine Judge, presid- ing. The first case called was that of Ho Fuk, who was charged with committing an armed robbery in the harbour, together with two ing, of Messrs, Ewens, Hariton and Harding, others not in custody, Sir Henry Berkeley, Al-appeared for the plaintiff company, and Mr. E. torney General, prosecuted, and briefly stated. Mr. J. Hanion, Chief Inspector of Detec tives, stated that the prisoner had already pointed out two men as his accomplices, but on investigation the men were found to be entirely innocent, and knew nothing of the prisoner.
His lordship'entenced the man to five years' hard labour, and to receive 24 strokes of the birch as soon as convenient.

This match was held on the Hongkong Football Club Ground, at Happy Valley, yesterday afternoon, between the "A" teams of the above-mentioned clubs. Immediately after the kick-off, the soldiers invaded the club territory and opened hostilities. The club backs were weak, and the kicking of Seth faulty.
The half-back line managed to get the ball out, but the West Kente returned, and Falkner, receiving pass, netted. At ballaime the soldiers stood one up. The soldiers had: the best of the second half, Nash scored the second goal. Final: West Kente a Club o Cpl Barney, of the West Kents, was the referee.
