For twenty-five years previous to the year 1898 the purssit of agriculture in the Western section had been the most poorly paid of ali forms of American enterprise. All this state of affairs has been reversed. The population of our land has increased by such leaps and bounds that we now eat up practically all the grain we produce, the farmer gets a big price for his products, and that part of the country in which the farmers live is becoming almost the most prosperous part of the land.
