WEEKLY SHARE KEFORT,
In their report of yesterday's date, Messrs. Benjamin, Kelly and Fotis state-During the
past week, the market has continued quiet and inactive but, with the exception of a sharp de cline in the value of Indo-Chines, rates in general have been fairly well maintained.
The Indo-China Steam Navigation Com pany, Limited, has declared a dividend of six per cent. (twelve shillings per shareo) for the Year 1904.
The Oriental Consolidated Mining Com. pany, Limited, has declared an Interim divi- dend of fifty cents (gold) per share.
Banks.-Hongkong and Shanghai Banks have ruled rather firmer and have been nego- tiated at $7978 and $795. The London quota tion has risen to £80. Nationals are firm at $37.
Marine Insurances.-Cantons continue on the rise and are now in demand at $310, China Trades improved to $64 at which rate sales have been effected and more shares can be
placed. Unions are still offering at $695. There is nothing doing in other stocks under this head and quotations are unchanged.
Fire Insurances-China Fires are wanted at $86. Hongkong Fires have been done and can still be bought at $300.
Shipping,-Hongkong, Cauton and Macao Steamboata are steady with sales at $17. Owing to the disappointing dividend of six per cent. which the directors 'recommend Indo-Chinas have had a severe decline and are obtainable at $118. Shareholders fully expected £i, as it was understood the year under review had been an exceptionally good one for shipping. What the actual earnings are is not known to shareholders at present, but it is believed since
the company has done very well that a rather substantial sum has been carried forward, China and Manilas are unaltered at $213, while Douglas Steamships have advanced and are wanted at $351. Star Ferries are quoted at $35 and $27 ex the dividend at $1.80 and 90 cents respectively, paid on 19th ultimo. Shell Transports have been booked at 22/6 and 23/-, Shanghai Tugs (preference) have been placed at Thu, 48 and close is further request; the ordinary shares are obtainable at Thu, çB.

Farnhams have strengthened their position, and have been placed at Tls, 159 and Tlá, 160 at which latter more shares are inquired for.. Kowloon Wharfs are a shade firmer, and can be placed at $103, after sales at Ston. Hongkew Wharts have been disposed of at Tla. 185, and close at Tls. 187. New Amoy Docks are obtainable at $20.
