This practically disenfranchised all the Chinese shareholders. The crosscut East from this winze has been extended 6 ft. to 12 ft, and the West crosscut to 22 ft. without discovering anything. This -dead work is consequently stopped.
340 Level North, No. 1 Winze.-Work bern has been suspended for about six weeks owing to a fall of stone from two converging walls in the drive above. The fallen stone has now been removed, the ground tecurely timbered, and after forking the water, sinking has been resumed; 7 ft. has been added, the total depth now being 37 ft. The lode in sight is fall width of the winxe, bạt practically barren.

Consignees of Cargo by the above-named vessel are hereby informed that their Goods are being landed and placed at their risk in the Hongkong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown Company's Godowns at Kowloon, where each consignment will be sorted oat mark by mark, and delivery can be obtained as soon as the Goods are landed.
This vessel brings on Cargo:
From London, &c., ex S.S. Marmora, » From Australia, ex S.5. Australia. From Calcutta, ex 5.5. Palermo.
From Persian Gulf, &c., ex B. 1. S. N. and
B. & P. S. N. Co.'s Steamers. Optional Goods will be landed here unless instructions are given to the contrary before 1 P.M., TO-DAY,
Goods not cleared by the 2nd proximo, at 4 P.M. 'will be subject to rent
No Fire Insurance will be effected by me in any case whatever.
Damaged Packages must be left in the Godowns for examination by the Consignces' and the Company's representative at an appointed hour.
All claims must be presented within ten days of the steamer's arrival here after which date they cannot be recognised.
No claims will be admitted after the goods have left the Godowns.
