THE Son Francisco Chronicle states that Captain J, H. Rinder will not sail in command of the Pacific Mail freight steamer Alen when she departs for the Orient. He has resignest from the company's service, but declines to spek of his future movements. Captain Rinder has always been considered one of the very best navigators in the Pacific, and as commander of the well-known liner Coptic for many years stood high; not only as an able commander, but as a gentleman acceptable to the best class of travellers sailing out of this- post for the Far East.
