With reference to the Trade Convention of 1501 (K'uai-shih' cycle) such clauses as have been found unreliable shall be mutually corrected and changed. After the said clauses have been corre.ted the clauses regarding the
above-namel three places shall be put into force. Traders to India shall fellow the routes now opened. Should trade be brisk in other places, arrangements shall be made to establish fresh trading imarts,
(3) The Convention of 1901 having been found to be very unreliable the. Thibetan Auth- orities shall appoint Commissioners to confer thereanent with the British officials.

(4) As soon as the limit of duties have been settled they shall not hereafter be increased.
(5) From the Indian fromier the routes to Yatung, to Gyangtse, and to Kötak's shall be ions of the said roules he found dangerous or free from Customs barriers. Should any port
difficult for travel they shall be repaired by the Thibetan Authorities. The latter shall also appoint Thibetan officers to the said three markets and whenever British officials desire to communicate with the Imperial Chinese Resident of other Chinese or Thibetan officials it shall be the duty of the Thibetan officers al [754 the said three marts to forward said dispatches. The same regulation shall apply in the case of the establishment of new marts in the future,
