A NEW CODE.

We have received from the Hongkong Observatory a new code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong

those at present in use at Shanghai, and will on New Year's Day. They are the same as

be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball at

Kowloon Point for the information of masters

of vessels leaving the port. They do not neces sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The signals are as follows:-
