The signals are repeated on the flagstaff of the Godown Company at Kowloon, and also, by day only, at the Harbour Office and on M's Receiving Ship.

The Colony itself is warned of approaching

typhoons by means of the Typhoon Gun placed

at the food of the mast, which is fired whenever

a strong gale of wind is expected to blow here.

THE CHINA COAST METEOROLOGICAL REGISTER in exhibited at the same places daily about noon. It contains observations made at Hongkong and at a number of stations in the Far East, together with Remarks, Weather- forecasts, and information regarding the exist | enes and movements of typhoons based thereon.
