THE cholera on ships in northern ports does not appear to be decreasing. Mr. Merry, late 3rd engineer of the C. M. Co's str. Hsich Ho, was seized with it a few days ago in Amoy, and

succumbed to the disease. Mr. F. Neilson,

second officer of the same vessel, has been attacked and was taken ashore in a very serious condition. Mr. D. Wishart, second engineer of the CM. Co.'s str. Anping, had choleraic symptoms this morning and wasat once taken tothe Shanghai General Hospital. Mr. W. Auld, late chief officer of the C. M. Co.'s str. Kwang. tak, has succumbed to the disease, and Mr. E. P. Pym, acting Commissioner of Customs, who left Shanghai to return to his post in Hankow by the C. M. Co.'s str. Kiangyu, was taken ill. with cholera at Kiukiang and he breathed his last just before the ship arrived at Hankow.

There being no questions the Chairman pro- posed, and Mr. R. C. Wilcox seconded, that the report and accounts as presented be adopted and passed.
