quadrant, N.E, to S.E.)
A BALL indicates a typhoon to the West-
ward of the Colony, (e, in the West
quadrant, S.W. to N..)
A Cony Point Upwards indicates a typhoon
to the Northward of the Colony, e, in
the North quadrant, N.W. tg N.E.)

typhoons by means of the Typhoon Gua placed
at the foot of the mast, which is fired whenever
a strong gale of wind is expected to blow here.
