The Reverend gentleman, who in now close on three score-years and ten, but withal hale and hearty, has been upwards of 40 years in China, chiefly, we believe, in Shansi. He is a native of Holland, and after a brief visit to Batavia will proceed to his native land to take well-cared rest after so many years of patient, and ofttimes trying labour in the vast mission field of Far Cathay.
