In reply to your bespatch 2:57 of the 9the Remy, I have to convey to you my
Sanction
of the rates of salary awarded to for Rice, and to the 4th clock in the Treasury.
I am glad to hear that
considerable
Saving
is to be
effected in the cost of the
Treasury, and I concur with der Austin in Thinker that it is rudescrible that
any permanent afforintant to that department shouß be made for the present.
