(ORIENTAL ·S.S. CO.)' REGULAR SERVICE BETWEEN HONGKONG AND MANILA.
Throughout the Manufacture of this justly celebrated brand of Table Waters all ingre- dients used are guaranteed of purest quality. The machinery used is the most modern' type and we have gone to great expense to' erect our plant on later scientific principles which has such a great advantage over the THE Company's well-known Steinship old process of manual labour still in vogue through the Colony, thereby further ensuring the purity of our products.
The Manufactory is under the personal supervision of a QUALIFIED ENGLISH CHEMIST, who has devoted years to bring this branch of the trade to perfection.
The Water used is analysed daily to en- sure of its absolu.c purity, and when we say that our method of manufacture has been approved by Sanitary and Medical Authori ties, it is in itself a sufficient guarantee.
"ROSETTA MARU," 3.876 Tons,

DECORATION DAY-Today is the United States aunuat public holiday termed Decoration Day, on account of it being the occasion, when the nation mouras the loss, and decorates the graves of the warriors who fell in the Civil War. The U.S.S. of a Chinese student, a member of the Sanitary
Board stuff, to a house in Shelley Street, where he was accused of discourtesy.
D.. Clark said that a warning had been issued by him to the effect that anyone unne cessarily annoying people in the execution of their duty would be severely dealt with. “
M. Fung Wa Chun-I think the Board. ou hit to have soute drawn-up rules Inid down. for the guidance of these students and also for the guidance of the cleansing gongs. I am told the cleansing gangs give a notice what
ever
Dr. Clark-No, they don't, but
Mr. Fung Wa Chun-Well, they ought to give time or four hours notice. Some Cali fonian, Au aliau, aud Manila frms and
general merchants have to write letters and catch mails, and if they have to clear out at once it will be a great inconvenience and lilicly to prove injurious to their business. I think you ought to give them three or four hour's notice.
Dr. Clark said this was a different question altogether.
M. Tung Wa Chun Loow that.
Dr. Clark-But as to giving notice if that woe done the probability is that when the cleansing gang got to a coolic house there would be nothing left to disinfect,
Mr. Fong Wa Chun-I wasn't talking about the coolic class. I was talking about the busi ness people; and I wasn't talking about plague houses, but houses which have been cleansed without a plague case in the house. I think instructions should be drawn up and circulated. As for myself if people come to me I cannot tell them what to do and, in fact, I believe no member of the Board could, with the exceptien of the Medical Officer of Health (Laughter).
Dr. Clark-We don't give notice zow; we finished our house-to-house cleaning long ago, and we only disinfect houses in which, or in the immediate vicinity of which, a plazue case has occurred
Dr. Clark suggested, that "Mr. Fang Wa Chun might send those people who found the cleansing operations annoying to him and he would do what he could for them
Mr. Fung Wa Chun said-Yes, but I cannot. be seeing there people every day: (Laughter.);
The President-Only those houses is which plague-infected rais are fornd, or in which a plague cese has occurred are disinfected.
