A fisherman of Shimojimajin, in the Linchu, islands, has arrived in Shanghai after a remark- able escape from death. His story is that while he and two companions were out fishing on

th April around their island home, between Formosa and Japan, they were blown out to sea by a strong gale. They were pitched about in their frail craft in a farious sea for very nearly
