THE STEAM ROLLERO Saturday evening the steam roller experienced rather rough treatment at the hands of the driver, I appears that it was ordered to Hollywood Road, and the driver, believing in the wonders of the iron roller, allempted to reach his destination from Queen's Road West, by way of Possession Strect, which as our readets are aware, is not too level. The poor steam roller bravely attempted the task, but sad to narrate, her steaming powers were not equal to the occasion, with the result that half way up the street she took a sudden liking for the lower levels. The driver to precipitate events, was quite it a loss to know what to do, and to make matters worse, probably, through excitiment, instead of applying the brake and reversing gear gave her "full speed ahead. The impetus thus given sent the
result that it banged against the curb stones of the gutters, "and Bustained injuries which necessitated the prompt attendance of the Go- verament engineer We are however pleased to say that the steam roller is quite well again,
