THE DALLAS COMPANY.
The Theatre was again packed inst night. when the Casind Girl, was played by the Dallas Commny. The comedy in divided into two acts with sparkling and breezy music Although not a very nowerful production, with little or no plot, the cast depends prently for its effectiveness in the ability of those in whom the various parts are vested. Mr. Percival Knight, made a very good 1 Offenbach Gaggs. His 'impersonation was good, and quite in keeping with the reputation he has earned hers. and else where. His song "Nothing New " was received with storms of anplayse, especially „the local allusions. We were in a way disap. pointed with Mr. Henry Dallas. He did ant the altogether appear to advantage in character of Pilsener Pashi. but for all that, he made the most of an unfavour able part.. The part of Ben Muley, the brig and chief, was in the safe hands of Mr. Harold Gedwin, and was ably, supported by Mr. W、 Ritter Riley as his lieutenant, All the ladies acquitted themselves excellently chief among them being Miss Marie Arnald, Miss Isabel Vernon, Miss Nellie Curt's, and Miss Bertha Hunter.
The evening' entertainment was brought to a close by Miss Cissy Fitzgerald in her wonderful gaiety dance, which created such a favourable impression in London,

THE PATANI QUESTION.
WHAT WILL THE BRITISH DO?
The kidnapping of the Sultan (or Rajah) of of Patani is likely to be a bad day's work for the Siamese Government, Mr. Annandale, the explorer who was for some months in that State told us when he was in Kuala Lumpor, a day or two ago, that there was a great deal of friction between the Siamese officials and the

The Malays had all sorts of wonderful ideas, one of

When the Chinese Loan was being discussed in the French Chamber in November last several Deputies asked the Premier to publish the report which he had received from General Voyron concerning pillage alleged against the French troops. The President declined, and, from certain extracts which were subsequently published in the Press, and from the reports which were current among Deputies, it was concluded that General Voyron's"report con- tained some hard truths concerning certain episodes of the campaign which it was not desirable to make public. The Temps now reproduces from a new journal, entitled Za Voix Nationale, extracts from General Voyron's report, in which that officer, far from condemning the troops, take up their
