The American steam yacht Margaret arrived at Singapore from Colombo on the 9th instant, having called, en route, at Pulo Wey.
The Margaret is owned by Mr. J. E. Emerson, of Baltimore, who is on board during the pre- sent cruise with Miss Emerson bis daughter and a party of friends consisting of Mr. G. Stuyvesant, Miss Stuyvesant, Mrs, and Miss, Jenkins, Messrs. Ballantyne and Levering, Dr. McKim and Miss Meier, The yact left: Balti- more in the middle of May last and cruised in the Mediterranean for some time on the way out. A fairly lengthy stay was also 'made in Colombo, the party going, up country from
