Brown was conceded 700 at the start.. Ro- berts broke the balls, and after an ineffective attempt by Brown to score, Roberts tasted first blood with a fluke. This was immediately followed up by a break of 40 Successive breaks of 22, 74, 8, 6, 8, 4, brought him to 102/720, Brow thus being ten behind his points. Breaks of ag: 4, 5, 15, 19, 13. 12, from Roberts brought the score to 1951773, both players now being well up to their points. Robarts followed up with 22, 20, 24, 5, 315, 13. 1, 5, bringing him his third hundred; Brown had been more active and his storo of 842 was.52 ahead of his points, Roberts" reached 407 by breaks of 6, 29, 8, 23, 42, Brown meanwhile getting to gos, more than 30 ahead of his points. Indeed, at one time, the score stood at 365/902, Roberts at this stage being actually some 340 behind his ..paints. From 407 his score rose by 40, 6, 12, 7 to 473, when a carefully played ga, including pretty series of nursaries along the top cushion, with one or two marvellous recoveries, took it to 565 to Brown's 917. From this point. Olympia Brown seemed to prefer being a spectator, as

Babelsberg he made only 13 more altogether, white Roberts, playing a beautiful form and now better acquainted with the table, rapidly chimed in with 73, 3, 14, 4. a lovely, 187, 13, 4, and finally with an unfinished braak of to an out amid much applause. the score at the finish being called: Roberts 1,001, Brown 930.7

After the game, was concluded, Roberts gays an exhibition of trick strokes; his cannons into A hat, and other steeple-chasing devices, being much admired,

There was a very good attendance, consider lag the very brief notice given to members; and much credit is due to the sportsmanlike efforts of Mr. Suhi, who at the last moment arranged the exhibition. Mr. Brown was, in anything but good form, thanks especially for siiff-neck; but a travelling friend of Roberts assures us that 930 is the highest score yet made against the champion during his recent tour in India and Burmah. Brown's best breaks were 13, 12, 13, 15, 17, 21 and 15..
