THE actita of the military in scratching all their horses, on account of the disquali- fication of Bulbul for a foul, is much to be regretted. We fully agree with our morning contemporary's comment on the subject, "that it is neither a sportsmanlike nor a courteous action." We should be very pleased if the military would give some reason for their singular proceeding, as at present it must naturally be concluded they If they consider the decision of the Stewards to uphold Mr. Porrs' protest against Bulbul was a mistake, they have no right to show their disapproval by scratching all their entries; the decision of the Stewards is final, and the races are run under that condition, If cricketers were to dispute the decisions of the umpire, and football players those of the referee, and show their disgust by refusing to play, there would soon be an end of sport.
