MOUNTED BRIGANDS.
The mounted brigands who are infesting the neighbourhood of Hosewu and causing much trouble in the villages round, bave obtained. their arms from the store which Li Ping-heng had with him and threw into the river or buried in his flight from the Peking column in August last, when he escaped up a branch of the river near Tung-chow, but there was no time to follow him. These rifles have been recovered "and put in order by the brigands who are there-
