NOTORIOUS DACOIT SHOT. According to a Lahore telegram, dated April 21, another notorious dacoit, one Nizam, las been shot by the police. The culprit was surrounded, and Nizam, after shooting and wounding two constables, mounted his horse, which he had with him in the hut, and was about to make a bolt, when he struck bis head against the lintel. Being unhorsed, he made off on foot, but was shot dead. This man belonged at various times to several noted gangs, and recently was leader of a band of dacoils who were responsible for some thirty serious outrages in the Lahore District.
