ACCORDING to the Straits Times of May 5th, Mr. Koh Hin, the Captain China at Sandakan, intends to export timber from there to Hong kong on a large scale. To that end, he has bought a tonghang at Singapore for about $3,500. The timber export business at Sanda kan is at present conducted by two English firms. The tongkang is 95 feet in length and

A MOST daring case of piracy has lately been repotted to the police. The launch, Fuk Sang, which ply's between Hongkong and Samchun, left the former place last Sunday with about fifty passengers and with the owner of the launch as coxswain.
