A Korean in Japan has telegraphed to the Emperor of Korea, stating that the negotiations between Japan and Russia with reference to the Masanpito affair have falles through. The Korgan Government is seriously disturbed.

A match was played yesterday afternoon on the ground of the L.F.C., at Happy Valley, hy the above teams, and was the first Association game contested this season by the Club against an outside cleven, As will be seen by the Club's team given below, there were several of last year's members absent, and, in conse. quence, play was not so brilliant. Had Looker, Mayson Lowe, Danby, Howard and Anton been present players who understand each other's tactics, we are sure the game would have ended differently.

However, neither team opened their senson with a loss, for there were no goals scored by either; but the Club had a narrow squeak on one occasion, and had it not been for Kew's alacrity under the bar the soldiers would bare scored. The fact of the matter is, the soldiers played the best gaine, for Kew had to save for oftener than Harding, who kept for "Tommy."
