· A WAR CORRESPONDENT KILLED. News was brought into the city last night that Charles 1. Spencer, a correspondent for some of the local papers, had been killed in battle yesterday morning during the taking of Angeles. Ha was shot through the head, and death was instantaneous.

Mr. Spencer was a native of Kentucky, but his folks later removed is Vollmer, Idaho, where father, inother, and two Brothers of the deceased now reside. At the age of 18, Spen- cer left home, and went to sea, and for several years found employment on the trading ships the South American ports.
