Mr. Winston Churchill. For a young man of five-and-twenty, Mr. Winston Churchill, one of the two Unionist candidates for Oldham, has seen a great deal of life. In 1895 he served with the Spanish forces in Cuba, and was decorated for his services. In 1897 and 1998 he was with the army in the arduous operations on the North-West Frontier of India, and was mentioned and decorated. He was also at the battle of Omdurman last year with the arst Lancers, and again received a medal. He has now resigned his commission in the 4th Hussars, and will devote himself to politics. In appearance, voice, manner, and mental attitude he is strongly reminiscent of his father, Lord Randolph Churchill.
