This was agreed to, as also were three resolutions submitted by the Hull Chamber of Commerce, respecting stamps upon bills of lading, shortages of wood cargoes, and picketing, It was urged that in consequence of the hindrance of men willing to labour caused by the obstruction of organised pickets, it is desirable that some member of Parliament be invited to introduce a bill to am- end the Conspiracy and Protection of Property Act. 1875, So is to render illegal the practice of picketing in force during strikes or labour trou bles.
