H. M. S. Waterwitch has arrived from the north and will, we hear, make, a short stay here before resuming her surveying duties. SERGT. Langley, of Hangham, presented gamblers to the Magistrate to-day. Two were fined $7 or twenty-eight days and the others were fined $1 or seven days.
A CHINESE aged 19 was to-day charged with stealing a ring from a wman. After evidence had been taken the boy was discharged and the
complainant was fined $15 or one month and one of the witnesses $5 or 14 days for giving
