SIDNEY, September 30th. The proposal to send a contingent of New South Wales troops to India to pick up some experience in campaigning has received some- thing of a check. It does not come from the men themselves. They are only too ready and willing to go ever on the off chance of seeing some fighting before hostilities are suspended. In fact, that enthusiasm in this direction is growing rather than lessening. Of course it could not be expected that the Mounted Rifles could be behlad in this movement. If there are to be mounted men from this colony, one may be sure that a fair percentage will come from that branch of the service.
