WRESTLING. Vesterday afternoon s line display of wrostlag was given at Happy Valley by two men of the Asinila Artillery, Asa Slugh and Sudah Singh, below about fra hundred of their countrymen. The wrestlers were unequally matched an to made up by the superior training and activity aise and weight, but this disadvastago was quite

very spirited one, lasted for over an hour and scored clean throw. The Indian form of was then dechired a draw, neliber man having wreating differs considerably from the English, the men wearing nothing but a small waist cloth and being well oiled all over to dingly difficult. We doubt, though, if a Sikh as to render the attainment of a inie grip exces would be able to stand against a good Cornish wrenter, as their grips and throws are primitive and they do not appear to understand the use of their legs. The contest would, however, to interesting as tending to show the relative values of science and brute force.

In the second class Payne went very differently to her usual style, golog out of her own class past the tail end of the first and had a very essy win. There is plenty of pace in the old boat yet; It only wants a good hand on the twiddling stick to bring it out, Dart and Ladybird had a great fight for second place and came to rather too close quarters at Channel Rocks the second time. Perhaps some of the "photoggers" on the rocks may have observed something interesting. Active and Brice were a little late at the start, but after a low-tacks got into the frost rank. Chanticlear got off with the gun and soon worked out a long lead, being some 300 yards ahead off the Mica Werks, but la the last tack for Channel Racks the wind got lighter and the light weather cracks quickly överkualed her at the Rocks, which were rounded first by Phair about 30 seconds to front of Erks, with Chanticleer about the same time in front of Adsisor. DETAILS OF THE ATTACK ON MR. KRILAIT
Ins recent issue of the Stam Free Prezz (Bangkok) the following particulare of the attack on Mr. Keliat (U. S. Vice-Contal) were given :~
CHIENGMAL, November zand. Chiengmal is in a wild state of excitement over an event which took place bere on the 19th inat, and as the affair promises to lead to diplomat pourparlers, 1 will describe as accurately as possible the attack on Mr. Kellett, United States Vice-Comani, temporally located in this town. The following are the facts stripped of all embellishment--.
On November 19th Mr. Kellet sent the Consolar clerk Nai Sye, a very intelligent and reliable native, to the post office with letters. It war about 7 p.m., and Na! Sye carded an ordinary walking stick, while a servant carried lantern. No sooner had the two servants arrived opposite the barracks than Nal Sye was roughly accosted by several Siamese soldiers, selsed, and taken into the barracks. The offence for which the clerk was arrested was that of carrying a stick in alleged contravention of local laws. The Costular clerk protested, and called the attention of the Sfamese to the fact that hewass Consular servant, and that his wilck was asmall ordinary These appeals were, it appears, walking cane. dlaregarded.
