.NOTES AND COMMENTS.

The Odd Volumes promise well for the season and for the future. The Associa tion has fallen into good hands in getting Mr. PozLock as the Honorary Secretary, He is an able and energetic young man with very great capacity and possessed of sound common sense. He has made a success of the Chess Club, which was languishing before he took it in hand. He makes an admirable successor to Mr. MITCHELL in the Navy League, and while he has the management of the Odd Volumes it is in no danger of sudden death or premature decay.
