PRINCE PRISDANO, an uncle of the King of Stam, who has recently been received into the Buddhist priesthood at Ceylon, has hað, says a
correspondent of the Stratis Timer, a somewhat chequered career. His Royal Highness was educated in England, where he became a civil engineer. Returning to Siam he was afterwardi sppointed Director of Posts and Telegraphs. In 1891 he was sent together with the King's brother, Ong Noi, on a mission to Japan. On the conclusion of the negotiations the two Princes left to return to Slam. At Saigon, bow- ever, Prince Prisdang went ashore and did not return. The ship waited for a time, but the Prince was not to be found, and it was evident that he had deserted. Allegations were being made at
