WHERE ARE THE SCHOOL-BOYS TO PLAY CRICKET IN HONGKONG? To v Kresz or vw "Homokong TELEGRAFE.”

StAt the distribution of prizes at the Diocesan School to January last, the attention the fact that to convenient and proper ground of His Excellency the Governor was drawn to could be found for the use of boys of the Diocesan School and Home, St. Joseph's College, and Victoria English School for cricket and football.

The ground which has hitherto been used in m piece of uneven, rough and barren ground, besides being small (one moderate hit being popularly known as Breezy Polat" which enough to send the ball rolling dawn a precipice late the open rond), is altogether unfit for cricket and football purposes.

His Excellency in his speech acknowledged the non-existence of s preder ground, and was so good as to promise to take into his favourable consideration iba suggestion of the Head Master of Diocesan School for the leveling and improve. mant of Breezy Point so as to render it fit for a play ground,

As a school boy and a crickaler, I have been anxiously waiting for the fulfilment of this promise, but have been, with many others, dis appointed. The ground now in uso is in no better condition than it was at the date of the Governa's speech referred to above.

Being a busy mas, such a small matter might 1, therefore, do not think it out of place to write have escaped the-notice of His Excellency, and this in order to draw His Excellency's attention to it once more, as the cricket season is now rapidly approaching.

It cannot be denied that a good and con- venlent ground is one of the main things to rouse the enthusiases of would-be cricketers, as His | Excellency, doubtless a good cricketer himself, ls aware. I do not think, besides, that the Improvement of the ground would cost much to the Government.
