I would seem that the German arrived. Government contemplatos resoluta, or, at zil events, vigilant, action to China; a determination to be sincerely welcomed, we think, for Germany long ago abandoned the mistaken routa that she entered on as a member of the Triple Aillance, and whatever steps she now takes in the Far Eat are not likely to be luimical to the Interest's ekber of Great Britain or of Japan. There still remalus among the Japanese much bitter feeling about the policy adopted to Berlin in March of last year. But events are now justifying the opinion advanced by an at the time, namely, that Germany then made a temporary aberra tion from her natural political orbit, and that her return to it could be only a question of time. Baron Heyking has produced a most, excellent Impression on every one that has had the pleasure of meeting him in Japan. It is felt that Germany will now be strongly and "natulely represented in Peking, and an influence far tounder and much worthler of a great Power than that of Herr von Brandt will henceforth be leks la the Barlin councils.-Yapan Mail.
