THE CRISIS IN THE TRANSVAAL. The following interesting telegrams are called from the Singapore Free Press —

LONDON, January jib, A telegram has been received from Str Hercules Robinson at the Colonial Office stating

that over seventy were killed and ibisty wounded of Dr. Jameson's força. Major St J. C. Willoughby, Royal Horse Guarda, now I with the British South Africa Company, beildan Caplain the Hon. R. Wake, Royal Welsh Fustiters, alan in the South Africa Company, and Dr. Jameson, are now lodged in the Pretoria Jall. Besides the above, five hundred prisoners

were taken.

LONDON, January gib. The fighting between Dr. Jameson's force and the Beers took place at Krugersdorp and lasted eight hours. Jameson thrice attacked a strong position held by the Boers, who were 1500 strong. The Boers lost four killed and a law wounded. Tamoion was outnumbered by the enemy, and his men were starved, some of them having been without food for three days. Their horses were also in a state of exhaustion. Jameson was not wounded.
