The steamer Nanking, Captain Sorensen, was bound for Newchwang In ballast. Some where near Port Arthur her engine broke down, or she collided with something and lost two blades of her propeller. She managed to put Into Port Arthur, but was chased out by the Japanete. She now steered for Chelon, bat as it was blowing hard from the N.N.W. and a heavy carent wasrenning, she drifted on shore on the Kalau Islands, In the North Entrance. Sha struck this morning at 4 o'clock. The Captain went to a boat over to the Lighthouse, and from thera came on shore for assistance. At 9 o'clock he left, together with Mr. Plambeck, In Mess. H. Sletas & Co.'s boat for his ship; this boat has not yet returned and as sech as it returns I shall let you know the particulars. She seems to be to a very dangerous position as high-water, the ea breaking over the whole ship. and there is little hope that she will manage to cama of.
