stand that any act of violence by the police is most strongly objected to by Government. I know that sometimes hawkers and people of that kind ara very persistent and that they will take up cases against the police. It sometimes tries the patience of the police exceedingly, but the general principle strongly impressed upon the police in that no act of violence is allowed more.. than for the preservation of order. If the medical evidence supported the mother's evidence there would have been a strong case made out for putting the constable on his trial. In the absence of that evidence I cannot find it possible to take any other course and therefore, in accordance with the medical evidence, I find the cause of death was faver.
