A meeting of the Colonial Party In the House of Commons was held to-day, at which Mr. J F. Hogan cubmitted his motion congratulating the colonies on the holding of the Federal Conference at Ottaw", and expressing approval of the appointment of the Earl of Jersey is the British delegate.

Sir Joha Hall, of New Zealand, who attended the meeting, said that the demand for preferential trade between Great Britain and her colonies was outside of practical politics.
