Gentlemen,-Your Directors beg to place before you the annexed Balance. Sheet for the year ended 31st December, 1893. The accounts have been adjusted at the exchange of 24. C›d, per dollar.

1893. The net premiums for the year 1891 kmount to $834.574-92 (£104,321 171 41.) ón which claims have been settled up to 31st December last, amounting to $247.590.14 (£39,948 158. 4d.)

Commissions and expenses amount to 8/32,818.01 (£15,352 58. 8d.)

The balance of $464,166 77 (£58,020 161, 118) is carried forward.

1897.—The settlements on account of 18ga and previous years amount to $269,802.76. (£33,745 6s. vid.)
