4.30 p.m. on the 26th off Kam Rank Bay, we picked up two boats with 1st and and office of the steamship Propontis in charge of aime, They aisled their steamer bound from Java to Hongkong, 12 days out, put into Kam Ranh Bay with part of machinery damaged. By their request we immediately pać back to Kam Hanh Bay to render assistance ; at 5.30 p.m. anchored alongside of the steamship Freponite, the commander of the steamship Proponita requested us to receive on board the damaged machine vis, the air pump, also take up as passengers, the chief engineer and compradère's staff ; "at 6.05 pm. duly received same; at 6.30 p.m. inme. diately proceeded to Hongkong, and experienced moderate east-south-east winds and fina clear- weather to arrival at Hongkong at 3,30 pm. yesterday. Time of passage 6 days and x hour.
