LONDON, December 25th. The Times prints a'special Berlin article on the relations of Sweden and Norway. It says that there is every reason to belleve that the King of Sweden is prepared to use force to main- tain the union between the two countries. It is unquestionable that the Swedes, who wers at firi apathetic, have been aroused by the attitude of the Norwegian Radicals to such a pitch of exaspera in that litle more might easily goad them into action. At the same time, although there is a strong military party in Sweden, the pation as a whole would think twice before it undertook the risks of a war which might entail foreign compllc»tians. Denmark has such strong sympathy for Norway that the creation of a Norwegian repabilc would greatly endanger the Danish dynasty, and therefore the scheme has been conceived in bigh quarters that, if separation becomes necessary, it might be feasible to place Prince Waldemar of Denmark on the throne of Independent Norway to found a Norwegian dynasty. from Cape Town that Captain Wilson's force had defeated the Matabeles under Lobengula and that the natives had fled. This report, however, like those of the massacre of the force, was not confirmed,

the Company pays the Old Company (in shares) From the above Statement it will be seen that considerably less than their outlay for the par chase of the properties and machinery.
It is believed that the properties above-men- Honed contain very valuable minos-this belief being based on the following grounds:
(a) The favorable reports which have from time to time been made on the property by Messrs. Cox and SEAVER, and Mr. HENDY- SON, independent mining experts of good standing and repute in Australia. Extracts from these reports, accompray the Prog pector, and the reports themselves, tagether with Plans of the properties, are open to Inspection at the Office of the Liquidator, No, Daddell Street, Hongkong From these and from the extracts from the report of Mr. CARL WILHELM GEORO, the Liqui dator of the Old Company, it appears that, there is a consensus of oplafon, on the part of those acquainted with the facts, that these are valuable mining properties. (5), Gold to the value of £ico 002 has been taken out of these properties and this with- out any, seal attempt to develop the mixes by sinking deep shafiz.
(c). The mines when worked by tributers (18, a few miners who from time to time hava leased the right to work) have always made large profits for the workers. Before the Old Company was formed upwards of 3,448 os. of gold were won from about 1 500 to 2,000 tons of stone, and within the past 12 months tributars on the properties are getting out stone in considerable quantities yielding from 8 oz to 31 oz, to the tom, The workings of the tributers will not Interfere with the sinking of shafts and the development of the property, and their right of tribute will expire in September, 1894- (d) In parts of the Balmoral property the reef has yielded as much as 4 on to 7 oz. per ton, and it is confidently expected that, with certain necessary expenditure in sink? log and driving and in the purchase of additional machinery, these properties wili turn out gold in very payleg quantities. (4.) The Government of New South Wales have promised £100 towards shaft»slokdog on the Balmoral property, and the Govern ment Prospecting Board described the Queen of the Mount as a splendid property. (On the Queen of the Mount property, la 1892, 429 tons yielded 450 oz, to tributers. Both thers properties and the Eureka pro perty are more fully, referred to in the extracts from reports which accompany the prospectus.
It is believed that the want of soccers of the Old Company was due to the gross mismanagement, ignorance and waste of money at the Mince. c. The present Company intend to secure the ser= vices of a business manager from Hongkong in whom the shareholders will have confidence, and whose head-quarters will be'nt the mines, and “under wäuse management the money of the Come" pany will be applied honestly and satisfactorily In the development of the properties.
