THE YEAR'S OUTPUT.

The following telegram ban just been received from Raub by the local Secretary, of the Raub Australian Gold Mining Company, Ltd., at Singapore: --

We anticipated then that this last crush now completed would are 1,110 tons pur through the battery with a probable return of 1,180 ounces of gold. The actual result bas been 1,150 toos crushed for ro-5 ounces smelled gold. We were therefore out in our estimale to the extent of 40 more tons actually crushed for 165 ounces less of smelted gold,

We are now enabled to c. mplete the tale of the work at Raub for the past year, which'is is fallons-

o der to properly appreciate that result it must be bome in mind: that the re'on for the first quarter did not include stone from the better portions of the Raub Hole formations now accessible, and as regrids the list cush it is as well to bear in mind that Buket Komin had not been cleared of water til recently and the battery had to be kept gring with a considerable quaty of the comparatively upp oductive stuff from Bakit Impey, im ad 'fe tion, to what quantly të supeifor gold. bearing stone was belog taken out of the Raub Hele. With Bukit Keman ab ut to yield large quantities of stone there will be liile need to have recourse to the Bakit Impey stone, and therefore in the following year, as more sod more workings are gradually developed, the quantities cf stone to be dealt with will increase and a result returns will become steadier and leas subject to upward and downward fluctuation, Our previous estimate of the value of the Stad,717.00 || year's output at Raub was roundly $170,000.
