At the termination of the war of reprisals which ended so diuustrovaly for France, Mr. Scott published his "France and Tongkla-," & narrative of the campaign of 1884, which la one of the mast interesting books we have ever read. Mr. Scott had made atzangements to j in the staff of the Hongkong Talegraph, when a telegram from home entirely changed the bent of his career. He was offered a responsible originally worked himself into puhtle prominence, which he wisely accepted, and for over eight years he has dono splendid service and made a most excellent record. Mr. Scott is a most able and versatile man, with any amount of energy and an Indomitable will; If not hampered by official Instructions, British interests in Siam will be quite safe in his bands.
