The Germans being once lei loose "went for " all and sundry in their way and the first to fall a victim to their cowardly and unprovoked attack was a bor, 27 years of age, who was passing quietly along the road. He received a terrible abs between the shoulders, the knife appar ently penetrating his lungs. The led succumbed to bis injuries on the following morning. An inquest was held on the body of the murdered youth and the seven men were to have been up for trial before the German Conant, Dr. Stübel, on the 24th.
