THE Engines of the Chop-chasing were

constructed by Mesara, Inglis & Co., of. Wanchal, and are of the Compound Inverted Cylinder Direct Acting Surface Condensing type Cylinders 201 and 38′′ dia,,, with a stroke of 26.5 The Crank Shaft is 61" dia, at the Crank pla and y dia, at the journals. The H.P. Platon Rod is 3" and the L.P. 38" dia. The Piston and Connecting Rod bolts are a dia., Air Pump 143a día. by 13 stroke, Single Acting Circulating Pump 8 dis, by 13" stroke, and Double Acting (and Bilge Pump (one each) 3o dia, by 13”

stroke.

Thess Engines have been very litle need and ure in thoroughly good order.

The Boller is of the Horisontal Multitabulas type, with three Farasces and vertical Dome on top. Its dis, is loft. 2o by gft, 10" long, external measurements | Furnaces, aft. 7′′ dia; Domaj 44" dia, by 4ft high ; "Tubes, 184 is number by ex, dia.
